Yoga Therapy
What is Yoga Therapy?
Yoga therapy uses evidence-based practices drawn from yoga, movement, breath work, mindfulness, meditation, somatic body work, psychotherapy and neuroscience to address specific physical and mental health conditions.
Individual Programs
Sessions are tailored to each individual and designed personally to meet the needs, specific health condition(s), and the desired outcomes and goals of the client.
How long is a Yoga Therapy Session?
The length of each session will depend on a number of factors, including the clients specific health condition(s) and personal needs. However, generally an initial session is 90 minutes with follow up sessions either 60 or 90 minutes and scheduled weekly with home practices provided in between sessions.
How many sessions will I need?
This can vary depending on what you wish to achieve. A single session may be sufficient to learn some basic techniques to apply in daily life, however for sustained change and transformation an initial course of eight sessions provides time to consolidate progress and start to see positive change. After the initial eight sessions, follow up appointments in sets of four session blocks provide the client and therapist a framework to work towards the next stage of development. For more chronic physical and mental conditions (such as PTSD, Addictions, Eating Disorders, or Clinical Depression) yoga therapy may be used longer term to support other interventions, with reviews every three to six months.
Where do the sessions take place?
All sessions are provided online unless pre-arranged to be in-person. Online Yoga Therapy Sessions are accessible and convenient as they can be undertaken in any location where you have a good internet connection. This means you can remain in the comfort of your own home or choose another location that suits you best, no matter where you are in the world. We have clients working with us from a wide variety of countries and backgrounds.
